The first time it was used, I used canola cooking spray after washing it, the chicken and pork chops still stuck to the grate. After using it, I was about to clean it, and noticed rust at every weld point, while only using a green nylon pad I could see that the coating becoming starting to come off. Word of warning, I found out while using it the second time, keep the heat dial on about four and it will be much easier to clean. Also, use foil in the bottom. I would have expected something better than this for $135.

This is easy to clean if you clean it at least every other use. Gently with a steel brush after cooking and then with a stiff plastic brush when cool. It heats evenly and great control for temperature. It is great for my wife to use as she does not have to deal with the lighting of the charcoal and fires. We have a charcoal grill as well beside this one that I can fire up for extra cooking space and when the charcoal flavor is desired. The Chicken , steaks and kabobs she fixes all taste great and do have that grilled flavor. The smoke from the meats stay in the kettle to saturate the meat. Excess grease and meat liquids fall to the bottom of the pan into a drip tray. you will need to clean this out as well pending your amount of cooking, not after every use however. We gave our first to our son and bought us a new one. It is about 5 years old and still works great. I do recommend to keep this under covered areas to keep it protected. I got this for our condo located in Branson, MO. We are not allowed either gas or charcoal grills so electric was my only option. Assembly was fairly easy and straight forward. Our first meal cooked was sirloin steak. I was amazed how well it did. Had grill marks and steaks were very good. Only problem was timing on the grill. One steak was more medium well than medium. Second steak (thicker cut) was done perfectly. Second meal was hamburgers. They came out juicy and cooked very well. However, the total cooking time was about 50% longer than when I use a gas grill. It is still a learning curve, but overall I am very satisfied.

I got this as a gift for my mom for Christmas and it blew all of my expectations from putting it together to using it. This is a very top of the line grill for being electric. It heats up super fast and cooks a couple steaks perfectly. Will not ever use a regular grill again!
