This is Marilyn Monroe at her BEST of Everything; looks, character. The musical numbers are both visually and musically appealing. The dialogue is appealing and Both ladies really, really shine in there roles and wonderfully believable as GOOD friends and opposites. That they attract men on both sides is understandable and the viewer can belief it too. I love this movie, it is a real MOVIE CLASSIC.

The quality of the DVD was excellent. One of Marilyn Monroe's best films. It is an uplifting light romantic comedy. You can say what you want about the theme of this type of movie, but remember in the end Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell's characters got exactly what they wanted!!!! I love the old movies. This is an easy watch movie. I would recommend it to old movie buffs!

Any serious movie collection should contain a film with Marilyn Monroe. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is a perfect choice. Nicely restored, those who are too young to appreciate the glorious color known as Technicolor will see what they are missing. Abandoned because of cost, Technicolor filled the screen with rich vivid colors. While Marilyn was no Meryl Streep, she was a Hollywood icon who, like Elvis, is still known today. She is also a part of history because of her involvement with President Kennedy. So if you're curious about Marilyn this film will give you a good look at one of Hollywood's most enduring' icons. The story, which is a light musical, is entertaining and funny. If you're a movie fan then you can't go wrong with this film. Co-star Jane Russell is frosting on the cake. Try it, you'll like it.Read full review
Marilyn Monroe performing DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND is one of the best musical numbers in movie history. Until then, I was thinking the film was a bit over-rated, but then this show-stopper came out of nowhere, followed by Dorothy (Jane Russell, wearing a blonde wig and pretending to be Marilyn), reprising the song in a court room. Jane's performance is comical, but just as entertaining as Marilyn's. There's an earlier scene where Dorothy sings about looking for love, while men in skimpy flesh-colored shorts do gymnastics and lift weights behind her. It certainly got my attention! Though this is considered a Monroe vehicle, Jane Russell's character has the more sympathetic story line. Dorothy falls for a guy who turns out to be spying on her friend Lorelei (Monroe), then wonders if she can trust him. Lorelei is not always likable. She is engaged to a young millionaire, but is so obsessed by diamonds that she risks her engagement (and the diamond engagement ring!) to flirt with an elderly man so she can get her hands on his wife's diamond tiara. Lorelei deserves the bad things that happen to her; Dorothy doesn't; but both girls get happy endings and the viewer is left with a good feeling.Read full review
