The main thing I appreciate about this book is that it takes a euro-pegan approach to animal magick, as opposed to just another native-american tradition. Those are all fine, however there don't seem to be many consolidated resources for information on actual "familiars", and this book is a refreshing first step to a better understanding, a toe-dip in the waters of the history of familiar-based magick. I highly recommend this book to anyone new to or experienced in magick, especially one who is also an animal-lover.

This book has alot of useful info on animal totems and what they represent. It includes a small history or traditions of the aminal on top of their magical attributes. In the back it has a listing of what dieties are connected with them.
I own other books about using animal energy for spell work. I have always owned familiars, but I love this book because it is more specific. Especially regarding familiars that cannot be kept as pets. It is very detailed.
Fabulous Book. I use this book for my Totem Class and for personal reference. D.J. Conway knows her material and shares it with us GLADLY! Get this book for your stash.
Love the book. D.J. Conway makes it where anyone can understand the book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is into magick and dealing with animals
