I wanted a basic, compact printer for under $50. For my purposes- I didn't require a multitude of functions. After searching the local retailers unsuccessfully- I decided to check out Ebay and was glad I did. This printer came with both black and color cartridges and the necessary USB cord. The install instructions were simple and direct so even for a rookie like myself, set up was a breeze. The compact design also allows me to make use of the narrow shelf at the top of my workstation so my desk space isn't compromised and the streamlined design and basic colors blend nicely with the other equipment. Before the purchase, I had researched the cost of replacement cartridges and found them very reasonable. I've only had it a couple of days so I can't voice an opinion on reliability, but I've owned other HP products in the past so am confident it will do just fine. I wish the retailers would take note that not everyone has or needs to spend $70 plus on a printer (which is what I found on the low end store shopping). Obviously, they do make affordable printers that suit the rest of us.Read full review
Easy to set up and use. I use it at our vacation home since it is small enough to take in the car and print in the car parked outside of Starbucks using their wireless hot spot. I do not have internet service in our vacation home and find this printer very portable. I plug a power inverter into my cigarette lighter which provides the A/C plug for the HP D1560 printer and plug a USB cord from the HP D1560 printer to my wireless laptop and I am all set to print whatever I need to. Because of it's small size and low cost it is a "no brainer". Highly recommend for occasional use. Would not be printer of choice for extensive office type printing as ink would need to be replaced frequently.
Great little printer! It is light weight, prints well. It is NOT a great photo print, but it is a cheap little printer and you cannot expect professional prints. I use it inside my work truck to print invoices. It will even print with only one of the print cartridges in it. That saves a lot of money on ink, and I can use a color or black as a spare instead of carrying both in the truck. I got it for $25 shipped and it is a wonderfully cheap option.
This was the least expensive printer I could find. It replaces an HP Deskjet 3745 that worked well for a couple years until an electrical spike may have zapped it. Installation was the typical process, with no glitches. It cost about the same as ink cartridge replacement on the HP 3745, and I think these cartridges 21 and 22 will cost less. It fits the same space as the HP 3745 on my desk, and works just as well for letters or photos. Photo print quality is excellent.
Have you ever did those puzzles in the news paper where you have to spot the differences between the pictures? Well I have, and i also found myself doing so after buying this printer. I have always been a lexmark man myself. So i decided to go out on a limb and try something new. Over all the print quality is fantastic. Pictures are nice and colorful. Detail is vivid. And the paper is not to saturated after a print. So no mess. Its also much quieter than i was expecting, coming from a loud lexmark background. The print cartridge do last a reasonable time, especially considering my lil brother does lots of school prints and stuff in colour. Overall for the price, this is the best printer in its price range, and the overall best print quality I have ever seen in a domestic / not professional printer. And an Inkjet at that!Read full review
