Viehl's books have lots of twists and surprises. This story moved a little faster than the other and I was glad she kept Michael and Vanessa prominently in the story. Most of the time the lead characters figure very little in subsequent books or left out entirely. You kind of become attached to the first couple and still want to see their story played out along with the new ones. Thierry, another of Vanessa's vampire patients, has become a danger to himself and others. He seeks vengence for what was done to him and his family and others. Along the way he meets Jema Shaw whom he falls in love with and who has a secret not even she knows about. Anyway...it's a very good book.
This vampire, Darkyn, series was really fun to read. Characters in every book were interesting and kept you wanting to continue reading. The new twist on how vampires came into existence was something to think about and almost made it seem like it could be possible. Good versus evil and the Darkyn aren't the evil ones.
I decided to get this book because i have read other books by Lynn Viehl and they were awesome. I couldn't put them down. I just wished that it had been in hardcover, but from what i understand you can not find these books in hard cover. Overall the Darkyn Novels are book you want to read if you just don't want to put them down.
You will love all of these book... If you love Sherilyn Kenyon you will love this series.. The Darkyn are a wonderful breed of men!!! Great stories you will not be able to put down... Cherish Ann
This has got to be one of the most convoluted romance novels I have ever read (except for a Christine Freeman book which was worse). I imagine that you would have to read most of her other books to even begin to understand half of what was going on. I was so lost that I wouldn't have known who the two romance characters were if I hadn't read the synopsis on the back of the book. Gave up on the book after the first two chapters.
