It covers a vast array of topics about how best to achieve a satisfying, respectful, nonviolent, humble, energy economizing, enlightened lifestyle, etc. What makes this version of Le Guin's great is that she takes what the teacher of "The Way" offers, then becomes a teacher who interprets the master teacher. The lens through which Le Guin interprets the master teacher's advice is through feminist methods (self-analyzing, admitting her biases, contexts & means of reaching opinions &/or facts). Doing so provides readers with information revealing how the writer reached her interpretations. This method of scholarship, advanced in the late 20th century, revolutionized how future research of all types will be conducted. An advantage this research method offers is information about the scholar so that readers can decide how reliable or applicable a text is to their own style of decision making. Scholars reveal themselves so that readers can know from which standpoints they've begun.
