Author Biography
Dr. L. T. Force has worked with aging and disabled patients for more than thirty years as a researcher, academic, administrator, and practitioner in the field of gerontology. He is the founder and CEO of the national advocacy and training organization AgePlan. He also recently helped launch NOAAR, the National Organization of Adult Addictions and Recovery, to raise awareness about adult addiction treatment and prevention. A professor of psychology at Mount Saint Mary College and the director of the Center on Aging and Policy, Dr. Force is a leader in the field of end-of-life care for those with developmental disabilities and has authored and collaborated on numerous books and articles on the topic. He is the coauthor of Gerontology: An interactive Text and End-of-Life Care: A Guide for Supporting Older People with Intellectual Disabilities and Their Families.
