As a former "food addict," this book changed my life! I started following the diet the same day I received the book in the mail, and haven't looked back since. In comparison to some of the other diets I have tried, this was effortless and satisfying! This diet features 3 simple rules: 1. No Sweets 2. No snacking 3. No Seconds Except on days that start with S. (Saturday, Sunday and special occasions such as holidays) That's it! No carb counting, no measuring, no point calculating, no trying to figure out annoying portion sizes. You can eat what you want! Sounds too simple to be true? I lost 10 lbs the first month and continue to lose. Moderation is a foreign concept in today's day and age but Reinhard Engels gives you the tools to do it easily. His online habit calendar is awesome! There is a lot of practical advice in his book. I highly recommend reading it. It is short and concise. I love this book, and I try to have a copy around in case someone expresses any interest in being willing to read it. It might not get a person skinny, but it will get them to a decent weight if they use the principles and are honest with themselves about how much they need to eat. It changes the way you feel about food. Less food becomes more satisfying and enjoyable! Getting hungry actually feels good! There is no real martyrdom involved, and it's pretty easy to incorporate into a social life, though you do have to get good at turning down snacks. Believe me, after awhile, you'll prefer NOT to have them because you won't want to ruin your appetite for the next meal.
This book is written very harshly, no excuses, but excuses are the down fall to not losing weight. Very simple to follow, fits EVERYONE'S lifestyle, and the best part, it WORKS!!! I've been trying this out for a week and a half and I've lost five pounds. If I hadn't cheated this week, I probably would have lost more. I have less than 10 pounds to go to get to my goal and I've tried every diet in the book and nothing worked for me. Get this book if you want to seriously make a huge change with losing weight and getting fit. It's your last chance and you've tried every other diet already.
This would be a good maintenance diet. The "S" days are too tempting to over eat especially if you are a sweet addict as I am. I am going to use this as an assistance in my new weight loss venture. Written very good and straight to the point.
