It really does get hot. I put it on before I work out to loosen my muscles up wow! It gets hot during a workout so if you're not tough I would not recommend doing that. It is almost to much. So as far as muscle soreness it works, but for cellulite not so sure. I have a little on my legs and it's still there so I can't say I would recommend it for cellulite.

Although "Hot Cream" is so prominently featured in the photos and on the bottle, "barely warm cream, but pleasant" would be far closer the mark. If you are used to BenGay, Tiger Balm, Icy Hot, or frankly just about every other "warming" product I've ever tried--a large population of products--you will likely have to pause and consciously sense for any warmth. This is not a hot cream. As a test, I tried a reasonable amount rubbed into the back of my neck and traps. Nothing. Biceps. Nothing. Side of my neck under my right ear. Ditto. Ultimately, I tried massaging it into the back of my right quad. There, my skin felt the slightest bit of warmth, but nothing penetrative and nothing of note. That said, the smell is far nicer than any of the other products I mentioned, above, and it's a very nice lotion--I wouldn't really call it a "cream..." Its consistency is more liquid, so... A very nice lotion. But an expensive lotion if that's all you wanted, and definitely not what is marketed. For the record, I'm an un-tanned dark blonde male with skin that burns easily, never tans, and that--just by way of comparison--is too sensitive for most of the AHA face products. 3 out of 5 for an inoffensive lotion.Read full review

I have been applying to my back and feel a little hot but nothing really great. Thought to use it on my legs, arms, and knots on my back since some people said it works for loose skin and muscle relaxation, but no change whatsoever. I believe there are other hot creams of better quality, price and results. I won't be purchasing again.
