I'm not a professional; just a home user for basic stuff. No hot wires for me, though. For the price, and for my needs, it's a very good deal. I was also able to buy additional alligator clip leads with the banana plugs; no special fittings make it very adaptable on a case by case basis.

I recently had to replace a couple of capacitors in my home HVAC unit. Before discarding the old capacitors, I first had to make sure they didn't still have voltage stored in them. I bought these leads so I could clip them to the capacitor terminals, then used a resistor to "bleed" the voltage from the capacitors. The leads were easy to connect to my multimeter and the whole process was quick and easy. I was actually surprised at how beefy these leads were. The wires were a little larger gauge than others I have seen and the clips were very strong. I wanted to make sure the leads I bought would be able to handle any potentially high voltage that I might come across and these certainly fit the bill. You may be able to find cheaper leads but these are higher quality and a much better value in my opinion.Read full review

Very decent clip leads, I'm sure they'll serve me well in the lab / shop. The alligator clips themselves appear stout and the insulation from end to end looks substantial enough if used within the scope of their intended purpose and rating.

This is a versatile and self compatible, configurable probe set for a multi-meter with the proper mating connectors. Note these are deep insulator connector wires for high voltage protection.
