This is useless. To fill one of these waterers you need to flip the top part over fill with water then spin the bottom on to the top. With this design you can no longer see the tabs and it's very difficult to spin the bottom back on after it's filled. Would have returned it but I thought I could fix it by drilling a hole to fill but these are gravity controlled so now I'm stuck with it. So I was just dumping a half gallon of water into it everyday at least it was not freezing. But the past few days it's been well below freezing and a layer of ice has formed on the top of the water. Useless

You have to remove base to refill, spills half the water trying to fix it over. In 0° weather getting wet is not fun. The good thing this is the second winter and hasn't burnt out yet.

Doesn't even remotely heat water and the plastics isn't strong enough to support the water that it says it can hold....cracked right off. Do not bother, very disappointed.
