I battled insomnia for years after menopause. I would wake up so many times in the night. Sometimes with hot flashes, but most of the time without. For no reason. My problem wasn't going to sleep, it was staying asleep. My holistic doc recommended this to me. The first night I took one I slept the entire night. It kind of made me scared to take another one the next night, because I was thinking that I would never wake up. But of course, that didn't happen. I take one every night about an hour before I go to bed. I still wake up in the middle of the night, but now only 1-2 times and I can go back to sleep very easily. I don't guess I'll ever have an entire night's sleep ever again, but waking up 1-2 times is better than it was before so I'll take it. I have started taking Kavinace (not the ultra PM) two times a day to see if the combination of the regular and the Ultra will work for me. You just have to try different combinations. I am a small person so taking 2 pills at night would probably be too much for me. I don't feel tired in the morning either. No groggy feeling. I think if I took 2 I would feel groggy. I hope this works for you. It's worth a try.Read full review

read an article about this product, so thought I would give it a try. Works great, but I do not sleep for very long. It does keep my pain at bay for 3-4 hrs, but I still wake up. May try to increase the dosage. was hoping that it would be worth the price. Will try increasing the dosage to see what happens.

I've had sleep disruption for ten years due to lack of estrogen after menopause. I can't use hormone replacement therapy. I've tried melatonin (capsules and sublingual), KavaKava, Valerian, exercise, sunlight exposure in the morning, being sure bedroom is dark, turning off devices two hours before bed, etc. You name it, I've tried it. Kavinace does not keep me asleep longer, but it keeps me groggy enough that I have an easier time falling back asleep during the numerous times I wake up at night. It may not help eveybody, but it helps me. I have felt more rested after using this product for the last six months. Also, I find it works best when taken two hours before I go to bed. The $33 price is the best I have found.

I have tried everything over the last two years in an effort to sleep. Most of it had no effect, or minimal results. My health care professional gave me a small sample of Kavinace Ultra PM, but I was so disheartened I didn't even try it for several weeks. But when I did, and actually slept well, I still thought it probably was a fluke. Oh, ye of little faith! I did eventually purchase a bottle and the rest is a wonderful history. I still take a while to get to sleep, but it is sound and continuous from there on for at least 8 hours. For me it has truly been a miracle.

My doctor prescribed a low dose of Ambien for my mild sleep disturbance, but I preferred to first try the OTC route. My nutritionist recommended Kavinace. I first tried the lower strength Kavinace, which was ineffective for me. She switched me to Kavinace Ultra PM, and I have been very pleased with the results. I sleep soundly through the night; yet I am not foggy in the morning upon awakening. Again, my sleep disturbance is mild, so I cannot speak to how the product would perform for someone with a more severe sleep issue. I plan to continue taking Kavinace on a regular basis.
