Anyone who cares for their oral health should use a water flosser. I’ve been using one approximately 8 years and have had great oral health. Easier than flossing and perfect for someone who has bridges or braces.

Many years ago my Dad, who had excellent teeth, came home with the announcement that he would soon be having serious gum surgery, necessitated by periodontal disease. After that painful experience he always lectured me on the need to pay attention to healthy gums as well as teeth. One of the problems with regular and mechanical toothbrushes is that they can't affect the gap between the tooth and the gum, and these can grow over the years to be deep enough to trap all kinds of food particles. Used regularly, Water Pik makes short work of trapped matter, while gently purging the gaps with oxygenated water and stimulating blood circulation. These effects are instrumental in preventing growth of the gaps, accumulation of tartar and food particles, and resultant bleeding gums. Ask a dentist if you don't believe me. Though I brush religiously twice a day, I also use my Water Pik about twice a week for 3-4 minutes. My last unit worked fine for a decade or more. The new one is just as effective but a lot quieter. Tip #1: If desired you can make an 80/20 water/antiseptic mouthwash mix in the tank for extra effectiveness, and I do that about once a month. (Whenever I use the mix, I purge the unit with a little fresh water after use.) Tip #2: Always suck the last of the water out of the unit before putting it away to reduce risk of stuff growing in the plumbing between uses. The unit has multiple nozzles provided, so several family members can use it without an "ick factor." Tip #3 For convenience I leave my unit fully assembled (with the tank in top) on the bathroom counter. To keep it clean, I cover the tank with a loose plastic bonnet used for covering food in the refrigerator.Read full review

Product is very effective on teeth & gums. Easy to use, I mix a little mouth wash & hydrogen peroxide to the container 1st, then add luke warm water. Always amazed how much food comes out even after a good brushing. I use high setting, u might start lower ‘till u get the feel & control down.

Yes we really like this model and it lasted 7 years for twice a day usage by two adults before it gave out. I then saw one on eBay advertised as factory sealed but when I received it it was obviously used missing parts and did not work at all I complained and got my money back but normally this model is excellent if it's new.

I did not need all the fancy stuff that comes with flossers today. I went with these reconditioned/returned items one for my wife and one for myself. I had a working water pik that was over 20 yrs old but I could no longer get tips for the unit at a decent price. These units were cheaper than the tips (that were used) on e-Bay. My dental health has improved drastically and I would recommend these to anyone who has gingivitis or periodontal disease. I always wait for the honeymoon period to be over before evaluating items because they need to last and continue to work. These are still going strong at 3-4 mths of nearly daily use. Yes it is loud and how many seconds of use you can get depends on the strength of spray. It comes with 3 tips. It has two reservoirs one for daily routine use and one for medicine.Read full review
