My friend lost power during a recent storm. When the power was restored, she noticed the refrigerator light working but the fridge was no longer cooling. Easiest thing to do was pull out the fridge, UNPLUG IT, remove the bottom panel and vacuum/clean in, around and behind the fridge. Excess dust/dirt can make the fridge heat up and shut itself down to protect itself. After cleaning and inspection, the next logical and easy step was to remove the cover on the back of the fridge and evaluate the control board. I noticed right away that the board had some damage. After removing the board and putting it under a light, noticed some of the components had blown. Once the board is out, it's easier to notice damage if you flip the board over, where there are no components and the damage will stand out. With the model and serial number of the fridge, found the compatible control board and installed it. Install is easy (great video tutorials online if needed) and took about 5 minutes - again make sure the fridge is UNPLUGGED during the install. Once all the connections were made, plugged in the fridge and it started working. Put the cover back on and the fridge started to cool down after a couple of hours. I searched all over the web for this board and this price could not be beat. Shipping was fast - got it in about 3 days. Highly recommend this product if it's compatible with your fridge. Saved $500 from a repairman and $1000 for a new fridge.Read full review

This was my 4th board, not to mention numerous other parts along the way. All the boards I got seemed to last maybe 2 years tops. This one make 3 days. All the refrigerators that use this board are no good. Design flaw, ....BIG one. You should look at a different refrigerator that does not use this board.

These boards burn out often because of a bad DC motor in the freezer. The motor is only a $25 part and should be replaced at the same time as the control board if there is any indication that complete or partial motor failure is what caused the control board problem. Otherwise like me you will immediately fry the new control board you just installed. So how can you tell if failure of the DC motor in the freezer is what caused your control board failure? One way to know is if your freezer has been malfunctioning. If it's not getting cold enough to make ice, or keeping cold, or you don't here and feel the noise and air flow in the freezer. Another way to tell which is very definitive is to look at the two resistors on the control board. SEE PICTURES. If the upper one is burned out, your DC motor is failing and needs to be replaced at the same time you change out the board. Just sharing so others learn from my expensive lesson after frying the first replacement board I bought here. The resistor overloaded and burned out within just a few minutes.Read full review

If you own a refrigerator that utilizes this main board, you will be replacing it eventually. GE should have included one in a plastic bag taped to the inside of the access panel. I have replaced mine twice in ten years time. Once was a board failure, the second time an evap fan failure taking out the second board. The cost of this board is a fraction compared to replacing with a new refrigerator and takes about 10 minutes fix, start to finish.

After looking everywhere for the best solution I realized that replacing the board was the fastest and cost efective way to solve my fridge problem. Paying top dollar for a new one was my last option. Finding an afordable a used control board was my plan but the cheapest ones I found were close to buying a brand new one until I ran into this one. The quality was great and it was a simple plug and play replacement. My fridge has been brought back to life and has been running well for over 2 weeks now. Thank you so much for providing fast shipping and good quality products at the best price around. Saved the day!
