HP surley gave a lot of thought to this well designed, very good performer for a first generation core i7. It is as solid as a rock and the keyboard for me is excellent. Battery life is megar but this is expected from a workstation. The 17 inch screen is very good. I don't use a keypad so I really can't comment on that but others say it is excellent. Heat generation is controlled well and the fan makes little noise under normal conditions. This unit generates nice renderings in AutoCad and handels photoshop very well. A bit of overkill for most users but with the seperate Niviada graphics card makes streaming a joy. I would definately buy another in a heartbeat.

I wish they still made machines with screens like this. the 1920x1200 17 inch is bright and clear, with no bad pixels. the machine was delivered in immaculate condition, and is a snappy performer, especially after I replaced the disk with a cheap SSD and cranked the memory up to 32GB for a Benjamin. just think, I could buy 3 of these for the price of a craptastic 1920x1080 current machine.
