I loved this series in the beginning and am very sad to say goodbye to all the characters. This is the last book in the series. Overall I am rating this book as only Good because even though I am fond of all the characters I was not pleased with the last three of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, including this one. I feel like the Author's passion for this series is just not there and the last three books have been kind of so-so. I would have to say that if there were more to follow I probably would not have wasted my time reading any further so it is a good thing it ended here.
In the start, I LOVED this series. It was fresh, never-stop kind of plot, the best characters, and funny. After the last book, I was worried the finale would end just as stale. I was pleased to read that the final book had a pick me up in it and ended with an ending that was fitting. I feel there was a bit more that could have gone on towards teh end of the series and the plot definitely could have thickened, but all in all, it was a complete ending.
What a sad ending! I knew it was coming but it was still a big letdown! The last four books have been so boring and the entire fairy thing has just been soooooo much a yawn fest! Puh-leez! Is there anyone in the entire state who is not gifted with some power? Come on! What planet is this state in? The first few books were really good and then it just became ridiculous! I loved Sookie in the beginning and Eric was wonderful. Now, Eric is a big baby and Sookie is going off with YUCK!, her big brother, SAM!!!! Ewwww. This is just not reasonable. Who is writing these books now? I was so hoping that this book would bring things around and give us a big surprise, but no. More fairy crap. More sad Eric, more unbelievable Sookie. What a disappointing ending to what started out as a great series. At least Pam had a good ending.Read full review
The entire fantasy/horror series of Sookie Stackhouse by Harris are a lot of fun to read where Sookie is constantly getting into troublesome situations. It is based on humans, vampires, and werewolves. I had found 4 books at a thrift store and loved reading them, so went on eBay and found the remaining books in this series. There is a lot of humor in with the drama, and keeps your interest. Due to the content of these books, I would only recommend them for young adults16 and older as they have a fair amount of violent and adult scenes in them. If you love to read fantasy books, you will definitely enjoy these.
