It's small, light, good display, easy to program routes. Battery life is good, and sensitivity excellent. You can operate it virtually anywhere in the cockpit without having to place it on the instrument panel. Wish it was still in production. Database is an issue.

This GPS from Garmin was way ahead of it's time. It is very easy to use and can be used for both travel by land or air. Yes this makes an excellent low cost GPS for aviation. Just change the setting from road to compass (easy to do) put in your waypoint and the arrow will show you the way, including bearing, distance, your tracking, speed and time of arrival. For the money it was great when it first came out and if you can still find one it's still great today. I now own three of these.
I had a GPS II a long time ago and loved it. This one is even better and easy to use. Its hard to find one of these now a days because it's very old. This GPS is like new and was a great price!
