The Ipod is easy to use and the sound is amazing, but the cord falls out a little easier than I expected and the dial is very sensitive, so if you have it on your hip and it slightly bumps around it skips songs. Aside from those two issues its a really nice product.

Too many of the used ones have limited or unknown battery life. Some batteries are dead. Battery replacement will be $20-$60. Ask how long it will last on a charge BEFORE bidding.

The 8GB 4th gen. iPod I purchased plays music just fine, and the product was in the exact physical condition described. The screen, however, remains constantly bright to the point of being unable to see any images/text/color, and no amount of changing the settings or resetting the ipod to default settings will fix it. This was not mentioned in the description, but since I only need it to play music and the shuffle feature is easy enough to start up I do not wish to return it (plus, tilting the screen at just the right angle produces a negative image, allowing me to select menus to some degree of accuracy). Aside from this problem, the product is fine; I do wish, however, that all faults had been listed in the description before purchase.
I am very happy with my pink Apple iPod nano (8gb). It holds thousand of photos, songs and even movies, I'm told, although I haven't tried this feature yet. One of my favorite functions is being able to play games on it. I have downloaded Maze and Tetris and it is very convenient to take my iPod anywhere and have these games available if I'm in a line, on a car trip or just hanging out. My kids really like it, too, and my son has a refurbished blue one (also 8gb). My only complaint is that I find the enclosed earphones really uncomfortable and I've learned that comfortable earphones will be an extra expense and sometimes hard to find. Maybe kids have no problems with these but I really can't use the earphones for very long at all before having to remove them. Overall, however, this is a very sleek little gizmo and it's fun to have something so easy to carry around and play with or to listen to songs that I select whenever I want to hear them. I would recommend this product to someone who wants an easy to use technological toy who likes to listen to music, too. That's why I bought it and I am, for the most part, very happy with this purchase.Read full review
This IPod is a great improvement over the older Nano's solely because of the video feature. I never had a problem with my original Nano, but it's lack of video capability did start to irritate me. So, instead of buying new for $150, I bought a gently used pink one on Ebay here for less than $100 including shipping...pretty good savings. As for the drawbacks, I didn't like the "shake" feature at all...that's where the shaking of the IPod would skip it to the next song. But, if you go to settings playback shake you can switch it to OFF which I promptly did. Also, it's missing my favorite game, the music quiz name-that-tune like game...but it does have some new ones, including solitaire which is nice for killing time. The battery life is a bit below what I'd like, but not horrible. On the up side, the screen is incredibly sharp and clear for such a small, lightweight device. Sound is incredible as always, though I did replace the included headset and got the in-ear version...I'm in the medical field and I prefer the stethoscope-style just from force of habit, I guess. Memory capacity is great. The colors are cool, especially if a number of folks in the same house have a 4th Gen Nano...all can have their favorite color! There are seldom any glitches in operation, and usually you can get it right back up and running by holding down the center button and the top of the click wheel until an apple appears. This effectively resets the IPod without any loss of what's on it. And to be honest, if someone had told me back when I was in high school (lugging around my suitcase full of cassette tapes) that someday I'd be able to fit all my favorite songs on a machine this tiny, I'd have died laughing at the thought. Whew, I'm glad technology has advanced, and that it's easy enough for me to actually use and affordable enough that I can have one :o) Apple is awesome, and if you're ever stuck you can call 1-800-MY-APPLE and the automated thing will usually be able to help...for FREE! We have a Macbook now too, and highly doubt we will ever go back to using a Windows PC either.Read full review
