When I bought my first diecast in 2005 it was a base paint scheme, but quality. In recent years the entry level, "adult collectable", has lacked the quality of the cars a few years back. This lack of, "full effort" detail work is fully evident with on glance at the bottom of the current products. The transmission used to be a component all in itself, now it's part of a molded piece. This molded, "cost cutting" effort can also be seen under the hood. Plug wires too are now a molded component now forever a part of the car's valve covers. Yet, Lionel/ Action ask the same "quality" prices.
