Like Dennis Franz' character of Det. Andy Sipowicz on the revered TV series "NYPD Blue", one person really "made" that show - and was John Banner, playing the role of Sgt. Shultz - the overweight "Sgt. of the Guards" at Stalag 13. Had the show gotten rid of him early on, I would've stopped watching it. Don't get me wrong - most of the other characters were quite adept in their respective roles - least of which was "Col. Klink" (Werner Klemperer). However, that said, this 6-season sitcom was both VERY funny and very entertaining as well! Having purchased this set, I can tell you this: I would've paid double for it if that would've been the best price I could find. It's one of the very few series I've purchased or seen over the years in which I could watch it over & over again & never get tired of it! I'm only sad that it never went beyond 6 seasons. I thought it was that great of a show! Read full review

I love Hogan's Heroes. But, sometimes my TV does not get it due to weak signals and distance from the station. It is so nice to watch the episodes without commercials and with great picture and sound. I would recommend this purchase to everyone who loves Hogan's Heroes.

Very good plcture quality. 30 years ago I purchased Hogan's Heroes from Columbia House VCR tapes on a monthly basis. There were four episodes per tape each VCR tape cost $25. I paid ultimately well over $1,000 to acquire the series. Not only do they take up a lot of space they have worn out over 30 years. The DVDs are superior in color definition and also take up alot less space. I am a very happy customer thank you

Excellent acting, believable like you right there with them. Comedy at it's best, clean, light and funny. This will be viewed as family entertainment forever, it's award winning acting.

No problems from the CDs - they play smooth, without problem. Our family enjoys the comedy of this classic TV show. For those who criticize its premise: it's important to note how very many Jewish actors were employed by the show during a difficult time in Hollywood and how it portrays a POW camp, not a labor camp. Also, the show was a comfort to children whose fathers were in the war - a fantasy that their daddies weren't in so much danger. There are so many horrors from the Holocaust and WWII that should not be denied; I do not believe that this show denies the Holocaust. It is simply a situation comedy.
