got two and marked them HIS and HER so we both are responsible for putting them back ...we live in the middle of no where so when the power goes out here...it is pitch black...nice to have READY power...low tech and handy.

Good for the value. But just do not drop it by accident. They shatter easy. I had one and it fell off my kitchen counter and had to go in the garbage. I bought 2 new ones to have 2 on hand in case this happens again. But it is of great value.

We had one of these for years. I bought and used a kit that allowed me to use 4 "D" batteries instead of the expensive Lantern style battery. We really liked it but it often required hitting the side of the flashlight periodically to make the lights come back on. I accidentally dropped my previous flashlight on a hard surface and the front assembly broke. This new one is virtually identical. I was able to transfer my previous "D" batteries adapter into this one. So far, I've only needed to hit the side of this new one just once and I'm quite happy with it, especially since it cost less than $5.

This is a great product, not only for emergencies but for any time when you need a bright light close.

With an updated technology. LED. Will probably never have a bub burn out and greatly extended battery life. One suggestion: make the case day-glo orange or green. It has a black case now, which would make it harder to find in low-light situations.
