We (my brother and I) tuned the antennas and had really good SWR readings. However they did not perform very well. We were within 3 miles of each other line of sight and couldn't communicate. We are both using the Anytone AT-6666 in CB mode. We then purchased the Wilson 2000's and they really made these radios perform. We easily reached each other 10 miles apart over terrain with some hills and timber. I realize the Wilson 2000 is built differently with a center load but we still expected the Browning to perform better.

The roof of my car is made from steel so thin that my through-the-roof NMO mount would tear it if I tried to run a Firestick or other substantial 11/10m mobile antenna. The Browning is a bottom-loaded whip which places all the weight at the bottom, where it can't exert any torque against the mount. I use the antenna to talk ground-wave 10 meters to my ham friends around the state of Maine, and it seems to work well. I had to cut it down a couple of inches, but the packaging has a chart with approximate cutting points for various frequencies. If you don't have a beefy vehicle like a pickup truck and can't run a quarter-wave whip (8-feet) this Browning should do the job for you.

Nice quality, easy install, clean look. I'll never use a magnet mount, again.
