Singer makes a great sewing Machine. My first experience was a Treadle Machine many many years ago. In Home Economics class it was a Singer straight stitch electric.. As a young adult I had a Singer Bicentential Zig Zag .. Now I have this wonderful Singer Quilter.. I LOVE it. Working on my first project and having a great time learning as I go. So I can say I span 50 + years with the Singer Machines. Each one has been a " JOY to own". This Machine is easy to thread, the bobbin winds like a breeze and threading it is so easy. Runs like a dream through layers of double seams, and never bogs down. Stitches are even and with so many to choose from your options are unlimited. You can't go wrong with this machine. It's just what I needed to give me the confidence to try out and learn new skills. Read full review

I actually purchased the Singer 7469Q sewing machine. It is computerized, and not mechanical. I mainly purchased this machine because of the value and brand name. There are so many extra accessories included with the 7469Q. It is a really great machine for a really good price. This machine is really user friendly. It is a great machine for beginners, like myself, but has enough features for more experienced sewers. If I want to learn about something on the machine, I can find it easily in the manual. The manual is also easy to understand. The machine is really easy to thread. It takes just a few seconds. This machine is packed with features that I don't know how to use yet, but I am sure they are useful. I just can't say enough good thinks about this machine. To sum it up, user friendly, packed with features and accessories, light weight. The only con for the machine that I have found, and I don't really know that it is the machine....Since it is light weight, you have to sew on a very sturdy table. If I sew on my sturdy hard wood kitchen table, I can sew fine when sewing at the fasted spead. When I sew at the fastes speed on my little pressboard sewing table, the machine bounces and I have to slow down. So, like I said, I don't know if that is really the machine.Read full review
I love this machine. I have been quilting for over 25 years now, and this is a very easy machine to love. It sewed like a dream right out of the box. I can go very slow if I want or very fast. The foot pressure lever takes a little getting used to in the place that its in but it works well. It does not seem to like sewing very small pieces as they get sucked down into the feed dogs, but this is a problem I have had with many of my machines. It really is an easy machine to use and I am very happy with it. Free motion quilting is a breeze and all the extra feet the Q machine comes with are excellent. I have always wanted a top of the line machine but could never afford one. This is a great machine at a great price. I am no longer yearning my T-O-L machine.
I purchased this machine to replace a Singer that was 30 years old. My old machine worked wonderfully until the automatic bobbin winder would not work properly and could not be repaired. I thought it was time for a new machine. I did not realize what I had until I looked at new Singers. I liked the features listed for the 7469Q and I particularly liked the extension table with this machine, the needle threader is great, the bobbin winder on top of the machine is different from what I'm used to, but it works well. The main problem is the lack of instruction in the manual or online that I have found that tells you how to attach the extension table. I like the two LED lights, but they do not light a very big area. You can adjust the length of the stitch, but not long enough for a machine basting stitch. Apparently I will have to go to the fabric store and hopefully someone will be able to demonstrate the machine. I was trying to avoid the 60 mile trip by purchasing online. Once I get over my disappointment with the fact that this machine is not as good as my old one, I will probably enjoy it. I guess that old saying is true: "they just don't make them like they used to."Read full review

It sews even stitches and the designs are easy to choose. I chose this machine to use for quilting. For the Sewing I do, this is a good moderate priced sewing machine. I recomend this machine for the beginner and advanced as well
