Anyone who gives this book a bad review deserves to be fat. This is the easiest diet I have ever tried. Eat all you want as long as its not one the list of do not eat foods. How hard is that? If I remember correctly the author states that he has been doing this diet on and off for 7 years. I think that is proof that its a healthy diet. I have been on the diet for 1.5 weeks and have dropped 10 lbs. I feel fantastic and I can't wait to drop some more. The other chapters which are on muscle building, sleep, sex and being superhuman are fantastic. Don't let the size of this book discourage you as its split into sections. Someone earlier commented that these are pointless chapters. Well don't read them. Since you don't seem to enjoy sex or good sleep don't read those chapters. I'm personally on my way to being super human!Read full review
time ferriss challenges fitness common sense throughout the different sections of the book (which he, by the way, doesn't recommend you to read thru out, just read the chapters you need). some of his "out there" concepts are: -eat until you are physically uncomfortable once a week -take so and so supplements to do things to your body, this section comes with "scientific explanations" about stuff you do not know existed, so you would agree on the basis that it "sounded smart." -certain meal types, timings and training methods can have a PED effect on you. -slow carb diet can do fantastic stuff to your weight loss and metabolism of course, all of this is proven via anecdotal evidences and "smart sounding" science. the only part where this book respects your intelligence is in the first few chapters. the rest is a fairy tale, and something people with no clue in fitness basics would buy. to people with health conditions and such, following this book is downright dangerous and could seriously damage your health.Read full review
I purchased this book after the author was on Dr. Oz. The diet plan seems rather simmple to follow. However, there is not much variety or variance. There is a lot of the book that is about body building etc., which does not interest me at all. I am trying to follow the diet to get a jumpstart to some weight loss. I wish he had laid things out in simpler terms rather than ramble about other things.
Where do I begin??? This book is freakin " A W E S O M E " There's a wealth of information (probably too much at times) that Ferriss shares with you, most of it is absolutely priceless when it comes to how much its going to improve your life on virtually all levels. Let me say this, the most important thing about this book is that it drives you to DO SOMETHING and DO IT NOW !!! I'm a first class procrastinator and within a week of getting this book, I'd already began the Slow Carb Diet AND finally scanned my $60 a month gym membership card. I already feel myself being more energetic, my face, arms, and waist are smaller. And after being in the gym for less than an hour but receiving at least a dozen 'hey there sexy' looks and smiles; Ive even gained enough confidence to ditch a guy who I wrongfully believed was "the best that I could do." Trust me, dear reader... you DEFINITELY want 'in' on this. Forget the price of the book, forget the size of the book, and REMEMBER how much you want to live your BEST LIFE possible. This, IS the magical blue pill you've been waiting for.Read full review
