Edsel Ford was Henry Ford's son and was really the one responsible for the 1932 Ford. He was also the one behind the Lincoln Continental. The 1958 Edsel hit the market during the 1958 recession. After a banner 1957 for all cars, 1958 saw probably the ugliest cars to hit the market, weird cars with green, blue, and red whitewalls and mountains of chrome. The new Edsel was based on Fords or Mercurys. It had beautiful cat's eye taillights, but grille that even engineers was inspired by pretty girls. This a beautiful pre=painted model of a legendary car named for a brilliant man.

Glad to come across this as I don't recall seeing it at the hobby shop, plus the GTO is one of my favorites of muscle cars. Also, it was on I Dream of Jeannie!!
