This product removed so much soluble iron from my resin tank that it required 8 regenerations in order to fully clean out. The iron had been accumulating from the past 20 years of use, and I thought that I would have to replace the resin itself, or get a new system. Now my softener works like new again. This fix has saved me a pile of money. Will continue to add a half a cup every 6 months to ensure proper function.

I did the treatment twice, first one by removing all the salt in the Brine Tank.... I used a lot more than recommended. to be sure it would work in the water mix. My test strip after still showed hardness after a full recharge! I then did it again, using a lot more than suggested by moving the Fill/Brine tube outside the Salt tank. Let it run till empty from a bucket, filled it again, with more solvent, ran it empty and then did a full recharge again!! Just checked the test strip and still shows lots of Hardness. I just ordered a diff set of Test strips, to come in later in the week, so I will see again later on! I will try and amend this review afterwards! My softener is a Kenmore "Ultra Soft" 480, 44K grain, and has been working solidly for years! My test strips are good thru 2021 and always showed zero hardness after every test!Read full review
