I have bought many of the PC-DI over the years, mostly in my work with schools and churches. I also have used them as instrument DI for stereo electronic keyboards and even string instruments like Chapman Stick and electric bass. Although they are a little bit pricey, they sure work well. So when it was time to update the equipment at my current church, I noticed the podDI. It has three major advantages over the PC-DI: it is lower cost (yea!), it is simpler to use, and it has the two volume knobs. For the applications I mostly specify, making it simpler to use is an important advantage. For the use in a church, having the volume knobs is a big advantage because on one situation - when the choir is going to sing along with a backup CD. Most of these backup CDs have the orchestra on one channel and on the other channel there are 'guide vocal' tracks that you definitely don't want during the worship service. The volume knobs enable an untrained person to adjust the tracks volume and eliminate the unwanted vocal tracks when needed. Good job, Whirlwind! Highly recommended!Read full review
