I bought this pedal and it sort of sat there for a long time. When I finally got to know the pedal, I was very impressed. Initially, I guess what turned me off was that the TS style OD was AFTER the distortion. I wanted it before (the new versions allow for this). But then I started messing around with it and realized that the best use for the OD side was to use it as a boost. It inserts all those mids turning the distortion side into a sweet lead tone that cuts through the mix. By itself, the OD side starts out as a TS style circuit but definitely has more gain on tap. Even with the bass switch off, it can feel bottom heavy so you may have to dial up the tone knob more than you're used to as you add more gain. As for the the distortion side, according to JHS, it is based on the older Marshall distortion pedal (big box, not the guverner). FYI, it has a built in noise gate with an adjustable inner trim pot. The distortion is great! Insanely responsive, and you can make it sound tight and modern, or sag it up a bit with the vintage setting. Boosting it with a TS or Klon style pedal will blow your world. Also sounds great at lower gain, very amp-like. So if you have room for this awkward looking pedal on your board, go for it! Or maybe get the newest version, it's more of a standard shape. Very nice distortion/OD pedal. It has a huge range in tone and sounds it can produce, I enjoy playing the Strokes type music and this fit the sound I was looking for perfectly. It can do anything from a soft fuzz on a clean channel to a heavy metal distortion on a dirty channel. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to open their guitar up.

Very good pedal! So versatile. You can get smooth and rot drives. You Can also get heavy distortion and well defined.
This Pedal is a very versitile pedal with great sound. Maybe not the best sound I've ever had but definately the best sound for the money. Its built like a tank and the footswitches are golden.
