I've used this pedal as my high gain pedal for a little while now. I've noticed it's extremely responsive to the knobs and its got a pretty high treble threshold. The built in noise gate is nice. The mid scoop is awesome for a punchy lead. MXR/Dunlop are my favorite pedal makers and that's the reason this is on my board. I've found that I don't use it as often as I'd thought for my kind of music but its a great pedal to own. I will say that when engaged the pedal is so high gain that there's a constant noise in the amp even with the noise gate engaged. This is not just the one I bought either because I've tried multiple pedals at differen guitar shops through similar (always a tube amp) and gotten similar results. If you're looking for a highly responsive high gain pedal then I do recommend this one. If you're looking for a quiet pedal, that's not metal so look at something different. I do recommend considering the gain of your amplifier first before this pedal as the organic sound of your amps gain will probably sound a lot better. Absolutely by far the best distortion pedal on the market. I'm very impressed with the tonal quality of the build and the sounds that you can obtain through this pedal. I have use a lot of distortion pedals in the past, and always looking for the one that just fit the best. This one is an absolute home run. I highly recommend this pedal for anyone that may utilize any type of distortion in the rig. 10 out of 10 Dunlop great job.
I can't say enough positive things about this pedal. Roll the guitar volume down a little, set the gain at 9 o'clock, and it sounds like a fat OD. Gain past noon and it starts to get crazy. 3 o'clock and hit the mid scoop and your face will melt like the guy in Lost Arc when they open the Arc of the Covenant. I'd I could only keep one, this would it. Super responsive EQ controls, built to last. Excellent!

Full bore metal is exactly what you get. This thing can make any single coil pick up sound like a super strat or LP. If you want that great heavy new metal sound this is the pedal to get. Has a lot of great features that can modify the sound your looking for. Best pedal purchase I have made.

Great sound & tone, you can really hear the difference in the slightest adjustments on any volume/tone/bass/& gain knob. Also can adjust the frequency. Has a noise gate also on it. Can’t ask for really much more out of a pedal.
