We bought our unit used -- and still it had great sound, ability to pair with other Polk / playFi speakers and no limitations on use with streaming audio, as other reviewers had warned We use ours with Pandora, Spotify and iTunes (though cannot connect directly to the cloud, for some reason), all with no challenges. And the much-maligned app is totally fine
