Easy to read, even from a distance, because of its generous size. So far it has been fog-free. Seems to be accurate even though I don't have a second thermometer with which it could be compared. I am satisfied!

The coil spring is exposed to the air on the back (fine for indoors but this says it's fit for outdoor use). Flimsy plastic conduction. Dropped it onto the grass while trying to get it on the metal bracket, now it's broken and a total waste.

Temperature Adjustment I like this thermometer but it is slow changing the temperature when moving from one place to another. I bought two. The reason I bought them was because I was able to adjust the temperature setting by tapping the metal bracket sideways, that holds the spring, located in the back of the thermostat. One of the thermometer was OK but the other one was off about 2 degrees.

At first disappointed in that it was 4 degrees off from my digital thermometer. However, I found out that it could be adjusted, but not easily. At first I couldn't move the mechanism and then the flat metal piece that was pressing against the plastic body came loose and I was able to twist the mechanism to get it to read correctly. it was trial and error until I got it aligned to the same temp as my digital thermometer. Shouldn't have to go through any of that, but at least I didn't have to toss it or send it back.

I purchased the same thermometer nearly 20 years ago and it provided accurate information until now. If anything can last outdoors for 20 years I should buy another one. I like the bold numbers because I can still read them from a distance of 40 feet.
