Love this cookbook!
Best cookbook ever! I have used this cookbook for last 20 years and the pages were falling out. I originally ordered a new edition but nothing compares to this OG. I gave the new edition to my daughter and set out to find this edition. So glad I found it here!! Perfect condition, didn't have to wait long at all.

THE Most Excellent Cookbook
I adore this cookbook for two simple reasons; it is the cookbook my mother used and it is a good basic primer for anyone just starting out with cooking. My mother's edition was from the 50's and was adorned with luscious full color photos of finished dishes that looked so inviting! The line drawings were very true to the era and showed ladies in "June Cleaver" attire, with proper aprons, cooking and serving with their hair in the perfect doo, etc. Of course these pictures have advanced with the later additions of the book into the 21st century, but my nostalgic memories keep drawing me back to this red, pink and white checked cover! This cookbook serves as a good basic guide for those who need to know the ropes right away. The most simple recipes are available (pancakes, pie crust, biscuits, and favorite cookies), as are salads, breads, main dishes, sauces and more complicated items common to the American cuisine. Additionally there are a myriad of charts for measures, conversions, and substitutions that any cook will find helpful and comforting. If success inspires, then this is the cookbook for success on a beginning level. This is not an elaborate resource for gormet fare, but American cooks have trusted the New Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook this long for a good reason; simple, satisfying, and trusted recipes and methods! "The Go-To Cookbook"
Family relatives call this go-to- cookbook "The Bible." Newlyweds can anticipate receiving this cookbook as a wedding gift. In fact, I cannot count the times I've heard exclaimed - IT'S THE BIBLE - WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. It made us sad to find out with this latest family wedding how hard it was to find a copy of this cookbook. Every book store has declared They don't make it anymore! What a shame! It's hard to find an almost perfect copy and the finer it is the more it costs.

Great Cook Book!
This cook book was a gift for my grandson who's been expressing an interest in the culinary arts. He's already made several dishes for the family and everyone is impressed. The recipes are easy to follow and instructions are quite clear. I decided to get this one because of those reasons and because I still use the first Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book that I received for my 1st wedding anniversary 42 years ago!!!

The Good Cook's Book !
I have owned BH&G's Cook Books for decades, and knew this was the perfect choice for my daughter in law. The inside cover has the equivalency guides, emergency substitution guide, as well as all the weights and measurements you will ever need for cooking. The recipes are well tested and stand the test of time. The recipes are easy, delicious and your family will always ask for more!
