In Aliens 3 you control the female protagonist from the movie as she runs around the level rescuing the infected people. You race against the clock, if you take too long the aliens inside the people hatch, killing them. All of the people must be rescued in order for you to advance to the next level. The time limit keeps you on your toes and forces you to be efficient at disposing the aliens which impede your progress forward. The main protagonist has a wide range of weapons as her disposal, with the ability to shoot in different directions and shoot while crouching. Between zones you are forced to battle against a Guardian, a guardian is a powerful alien who is able to jump and eject spines. The game has a good replay value because its difficulty can be adjusted. The game has 3 difficulty levels (customizable difficulty was a pretty novel concept at the time and not many games used it). All in all Alien 3 is a solid title for the Genesis with Mature overtones.Read full review
