Overall this is a good game. The game play is awesome, because of the controls, the combos are easy to perform, this game is very dinamic for an Action-adventure game (Hack and slash) compared to devil may cry, this game is more enyoyable in terms of control and performing combos. In game play I give the game a 10/10. The graphics are very good taking in consideration the time it was released, in comparation to Devil may cry 1 this game has better graphics, and the movie sequences are animated in CG so visualy is good, nevertheless the levels are a little repetitive. In graphics I give a 9.3/10. In music and sound is rather disapointing, being a game wich the main character is based on Gackt and no songs, or melodies compossed by him. The soundtrack is average, you won't find any amazing or memorable songs, in this game, the voice acting for the english cast is horrible, the main character doesn't talk, he only yells, grunts, etc. and cast spells like Gounken or souryuuken. In music and sound I give a 7.2/10. The scenarios and art are acceptable, but not very original, the character desing is not very sharp, but is enyoyable. In desing I give a 8.4/10. The story is the most disapointing part of this game, the story is bad, you can't get what's going on in the entire game, since this is a japanese game I expected something better. The main topic is to find and Kill the best friend of Wong Lau (main character) who is now a demon, later the story gets confusing, and disapointing because it doesn't explain why Rei (Lau's friend) turned in to a demon, and why Lau must kill him, the lack of more characters damages the story a lot, in story this game gets a 6.3/10. With a lot of unlokables like interviews with the original japanese cast, the game experience gets good, nevertheless it is very short, this is an easy game at the beginig but later it gets hard for the average videogamer, in this part i can't give a grade so lets just say is good. Overal this game gets a 8.24/10. I recomend this game for the rare game colectors, for japanese Hack'n Slash fans, and for Gackt's fans.Read full review
I’ll make this short...Bujingai is a great underrated game for ps2. The graphics are pretty good for a ps2 era game but where this game shines is its buttery smooth gameplay and great combos. Now the enemy types do get repetitive but don’t let that deter you because besides that Bujingai shines and you can get the game pretty cheap for now so get it now while you can.

I'm not going to lie. This game is in no way perfect, nor is it groundbreaking. In it's defense there are several things about Bujingai that I'd like to see in future games of the High-flying/Hack 'n Slash genre. For starters, this game is very easy to get into, because anyone can just pick up the controller and press any button to achieve seemingly masterful techniques, and not to mention a very unique and beautiful fighting style. I was most impressed with the automatic countering feature. the rule goes, that as long as you are hit from the front, you will automatically counter several hits, depending on how many petals you have on your "Flower". I've found that counter moves in other games are found at the apex of player control difficulty, and is rarely ever properly utilized.
This game caught my eye ever since I saw a trailer for it. Definitely a interesting hack and slash.

Amazing game. Took the PS2 to it's limits in combat and style. This was a game that can be considered a landmark game. The artistry and attention to every detail of the character are not to be missed. Challenging at times, but with a potential to grind and level up. As I got deeper into the game I was quite surprised by the beauty of the landscapes. While the enemies can get repetitive, for 2004 it was groundbreaking, and when you are running up walls, using the scenery to launch your next flurry of attacks it rarely gets boring. One of those many great Japanese games that got overlooked by the big titles of it's time, for me it stands out as a must buy. If you get the chance to add this to your collection take it before it gets expensive.
