Track IR Pro. is a little expensive as it is made of CHEAP PLASTIC.. The clip on the Pro Clip seems to be very cheaply made. It is not a strong spring clip nor is it made of metal. It is made of a cheap feeling plastic. The connections for it should actually be a couple feet longer as I had to get an extension to plug it into a USB port on my computer. It is working but I had to contact the manufacturer to get it working right. Mike of their support team answered my e mail for support in less then 10 minutes and with my letting him take temporary control of my computer as I watch and he explained what he was doing and had me up and working in no time. He even went further and explained to me how to adjust a few different things. The support was very good... no complaints at all with them. I use to for a couple different sim games and it is working very well.. Actually better then I was expecting it to. It really does save a lot of mouse moving and or button control clicking depending on the game of sim you are running. It is a little expensive though and I really think they can sale it cheaper then they do and still make a nice profit as more would be buying it. I said yes under good quality as the camera is sensitive enough to do a good job. As I said.. the PRO CLIP which connects to head phones is cheaply made.. It does come with a attachment that will fit onto a base ball cap BUT,,, I do not actually like wearing a CAP when inside and playing a video game... Maybe they should make and include a head band for it or a head band that the Pro Clip will connect to instead of just having it clip to a set of head phones as many people do not have or use head phones... I actually purchased a set of headphones just to be able to use the Pro Clip.Read full review

The product works, if you are willing to go through the frustrating and unintuitive setup process. I bought it to work with the Microsoft Flightsim 2020, and it does, once you spend 40 minutes lining up the monitor-mounted sensor with the one on your headphones. Once I got it working, I could pan around just as I had hoped, and the speed sliders allow you to keep the motion in a range that allows clicking on control panel features is easy. Also, the TrackIR works well simultaneously with the standard flightsim mouse controls, saving you from leaning awkwardly forward if all you want to do is see a gauge reading more clearly. So, all good, right? Next day, however, I loaded everything, and my view was backward, looking over the tail of the aircraft. It took me an hour to get it facing forward, and tweaking the position of the sensor didn't help. Everything remained skewed. So, just to get flying, I turned the TrackIR off. That was when I realized there really wasn't much advantage to having it for the flightsim. The mouse and keyboard quickly changes the views in-out-up-down, and I didn't miss the TrackIR at all. I am going to try again to set it up, but I suspect I will end up passing it to those folks who run around virtual battlefields shooting at things. It should be ideal for them, if they can get it to stay stable from one session to the next. Read full review

This is an excellent product. I mainly play flight simulators and it works very well with recent editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator. It also works very easily with Dovetail Flight School and Prepar3D. You need to turn on an in-game setting in X-Plane 10 but it works there as well, although not as well as the other mentioned games. It has a few weaknesses. The camera falls off a bit easily from the mount, and it moves around too easily if the cable is not secured to its back. In addition, the hat clip mode for the software gets distracted by background lighting and the clip itself is not super accurate. I invested in the TrackClip Pro peripheral and its accuracy is MUCH better than the hat clip, although I will still keep the hat clip in case of emergency. Finally, it seems you need to move the sensor further back for best accuracy than what I have in my home setup (my flat screen display is 3 feet from where I sit). Fortunately I have a second hard drive behind my main display and I was able to position my camera further back. I can't vouch for other types of games that I play with view panning controls as I haven't been playing them recently. For the recent flight sims, it makes taxiing, sightseeing, and landing approaches much, much better because you can keep both hands on other controls and not waste them using the mouse and space bar. I am very satisfied with this product and I highly recommend this to others looking for a similar solution.Read full review

Very expensive for what you get. The housing, mount, IR LEDs and USB cord could all be improved in quality. In function the TrackIR 5 is better than what I had accomplished with my home brew endeavors. I find the software worth while and the camera does out perform what I had achieved prior with a couple web cams and even a Wii remote, (pain in the ass). I have only used it thus far with the included hat clip with the reflective tape. I will dig up a homemade IR transmitting set at some point soon. I had expected more in the realm of range but hope that will be different wihen I am not stuck relying on the TrackIR's IR emissions being reflected back to it. The setup is on a 40" display in my living room. When trying to exceed the 2'-5' recommended distance I have had issues. This is not a problem when running Project Cars. I have a little table nice and close for that setup. The bottom line: Great camera; not very bright IR illumination; Good software; Glad I bought it!Read full review

This thing works great and really adds to the sense of realism when using it with flight sims and other games that it works with. It is over-priced in my opinion, but it is easy to set up and easy to get used to in flight sims. Much better than using the hat switch to move the view around.
