I was looking for something compact, that i could use one handed and that would give me good, clean, enhanced optics. This product is two out of those three things. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I found the edges of the field of view to be very blurry and left only a small, narrow, workable viewing area that could be clearly focused. The box claims to have a 379' field of view at 1000 yards; that in my opinion insinuates that you’ll be able to SEE something at 1000 yards to be able to check the angles for the field of view. The narrow view field made scanning/searching for something difficult, to me it seemed like you would already have to know something is there to be able to put it in view (or be scanning very carefully, for a very long time). The box labelling of "crystal clear optics" made me wonder if my product is faulty or that claim is only wishful thinking. I was happy to find a one handed product and was hoping to get a quality bargain, but at $35 AUD delivered - "you get what you pay for" rings very true here. Sadly my comparison to other optics would say "it's better than nothing", but not by much. If it is “essential” that you have a one handed product with a small lanyard loop that comes with a small leather pouch that you can thread a belt through. This does fit those criteria. But if I knew what I do now back when I bought it, I would have saved my money and tried looking for something better. Kids stuff like scouts, guides, military cadets etc MIGHT suit this well, because the parents aren't going to get too upset if it is lost or damaged beyond repair.Read full review
Handy, small, easy to take anywhere. Does what it is advertised to do. One handed operation is great . Takes a bit of getting used to if you have to find an object quickly as the eyepiece lens and the sight lens are not on the same plane as on binoculars. Good quality for the price.

This is a good monocular once you get the hang of the hand control, also when you see an object, and put the bandit to your eye you must aim the lens a little lower in order to pick up the object. I keep this monocular in the car at all times my old eyes are not what they were and just incase I need to read a plate or get the make of a car I can do a quick job of it. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it is not the best choice for all day glassing, on trips to the woods or in the glades. Other than that it works just fine and I like it.
I bought this for a winter visit to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. My kids are 8 and 6 and I wanted something we could grab fast to view wildlife. This monocular really worked great and it became first choice over the binoculars, just because it was so easy to use for a kid. I actually liked it better as well...just fun to use. We especially liked it when we were viewing some mountain goats on the back side of the Elk Preserve.
Optics are average.
