pros very clear scope cons screws not correct for mounting base. had to buy another kit with the proper drill bit and tap and proper screws. The locking screw on the base should be a machined round screw. I received a hex bolt painted black

It looked like the mount was cast iron, and then painted with lots of paint. The mount was loose and would not tighten down. Terrible instructions, you may have to grind off material on the mount, are you kidding me ? Do NOT waste your hard earned money on this thing. Spend a little extra and get a good one !

I took it to a gunsmith to have it installed. He said two other customers had already had the same one installed on their mosin nagants. On each one, the bottom mount kept loosening up. After repeated loosening/tightening cycles, the bottom mount would break. The cheap cast iron can't take it. I bought a steel bottom mount from an ebayer from Ukraine. So far, so good. If you buy one think in terms of only the upper part with the scope. Time will tell how well the scope will do.
Solid scope. the only problem is they make it seem like you can mount it. You open the directions and it tells you to go to a gunsmith. Little annoying. I had to do all the research myself to mount.
If it is installed correctly and use the right Loctite it should not loosen up. Cast Iron constantly being torqued is going to fracture or crack.
