This is a great soundtrack from one of the 80's best movies. Don't You (Forget About Me) is of course the most well known track, but Fire in the Twilight, We Are Not Alone and the instrumentals are also highlights. Whenever I listen it reminds me of scenes from the movie and happy memories watching.

The best song is the Simple Minds track used at the end of the picture. This is a John Hughes masterpiece from the 1980's, but the music is not the best of late period new wave.

I was watching one episode of "Futurama" where Fry's brother had taken some of his music records, so that he can use them to play on his wedding day. I laughed aloud when he brought up a copy of the Breakfast Club Soundtrack and said "Hmm, Breakfast Club. This'll clear out the room at the end of the reception." This one is for collectors. If you loved the movie, you should own the soundtrack as well. But alone, this isn't the best. I could only cite one song that I liked and it's the movie's main song by Simple Minds. If you bought it for this song - I would definitely recommend buying a Simple Minds album instead. But if you are however, a great 80's fan, this one is a collector's item, that you'll cherish among your other 80's memorabilia.
I got my CD, and it was still in shrink wrap, never been opened. Put it in the player, sound blasted just like it should. The soundtrack is hard to find, and I'm glad I finally got it. It was often sold out in the 80s. If you love the movie, get the soundtrack.

The Breakfast Club Soundtrack CD is a very good specimen of '80s rock. It has all the songs that were featured in the movie. "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds is, of course, the most prominent track. Other songs such as "Heart Too Hot to Hold" and "We Are Not Alone" typify the sounds of '80s rock with heavy use of synthesizers and a fast tempo. Indeed, all of the tracks make heavy use of the synthesizer. If you want a time-capsule of '80s music, the Breakfast Club Soundtrack CD would be it.
