Nic Cage is AWESOME in his role as Hi McDonough. Funny all the way. (the funniest line in the movie is when Hi was talking to a lazy co-worker who was telling Hi a story about him and a guy named Bill, and Hi said "Bill Johnson?" and the guy said "Bill Johnson? No, not that mother-scratcher, Bill Parker!" Too funny! I didn't like John Goodman's role; however, the guy who played his partner-in-crime brother was excellent! My favorite character tho, is definitely Nathan Arizona, played by Trey Wilson, who was an awesome actor. Great comedy all-around.
this is an early movie from the multi-talented and ever-hilarious coen brothers. nick cage, john goodman, and holly hunter, along with ol' tex, are pehenominal in this movie. look for the woman from fargo and burn after reading in this one. the coen's are very loyal to their actors and visa versa. great earlier performances from everyone, and the coens set a tone and style with this movie to bleed into later movies. a classic!
This movie contains a lot of things. Nicholas Cage wearing pantyhose over his head. John Goodman playing a robber. A baby kidnapping. Child Services being far from Child Disservices. As well as the action leading to a big finish. Worth it.
