I would guess the boys were sophomores in '65. I was a freshman that yr, in a boys Catholic and my school was run by the Carmelite order, mostly priests with a couple of brothers. This is a very accurate portrayal of school and life in those days. I ended up getting an education DESPITE my best efforts to do otherwise. In retro, I am very grateful. Rare was the day where I didnt either receive, see or hear (in the hallway) some misguided boy getting the belt. And, believe me, we all hoped our parents DIDNT find out. A very fun look back at far more innocent and wholesome time period, that will be especially meaningful to any boy (or gal) who attended a catholic HS in the late 50' thru the 60's.

I've been a fan of Patrick Dempsey since the days of "Can't Buy Me Love" and "Loverboy," so I was very happy to come across this oldie-but-a-goodie at such a good price!! The story is a cute one - it follows 5 boys through the trials and tribulations of Catholic school. Love is found and love is lost. Although Dempsey plays a very small part, I enjoyed the film and it will be one that I will watch over and over again. Happy to add this to my library!!
It is an excellent movie from the 60's showing not only how Catholic school could be but also public schools at times. We enjoyed watching the movie.
