You should only be buying this book if your college professor insists on it. The entire book is filled with useless information about computers and the internet. If you are reading this review than chances are you already know enough to find what you need. Seriously, do you really need a book to tell you how to google, blog get a domain name, what an Ipod is, what a mouse does etc? Unless you are a technotard, this book is nothing but a review of what you already know. There is also the matter of the shameless plugs for the Shelly Cashman website, there must be thousands of references throughout the text. I can't believe that Gary Shelly actually gets paid to cut and paste from wikipedia into this book. If he can do it so can you, save your money. With the cost of this book, I think my college and Shelly are splitting the profits. Save your money and look up everything you want to know on wikipedia.Read full review
I bought it for school and I'm excited actually to be able to learn more about computers. Now if only I can keep up with the homework and all the information to keep in mind! (It came in good shape and efficient timing! Thanks)
Needed this book for school but ended up adding it to my personal home library. Chapters are very detailed when explaining basic or complexed computer terminology for those of us that are not as computer literate.
