I placed a order from two seperate sellers on July 26th. I was told I would receive my books on August 16th. It is now Sept. 4th and I still haven't received my books from either seller. I emailed both sellers three seperate times...I have not heard from them at all. I emailed half.com three times to customer service, one time for fileing a claim and one time when they wanted me to fill out a survey. After all of that I received a email back from them Stateing they are sorry I had such problems with my purchases and told me it will take 30 days to find out what happened. I paid for books that I never received and I have to wait longer? My daughter needed the dang books for college and she has already bought more and I am here in limbo..waiting to find out if I get a refund or not. There is something wrong with this as far as I am concerned. It takes to long for customer service to get back to you and you will not get a phone number to call them. First and last time I will ever order from here. Beware of media mail. It is the slowest shipping method...everything else will take a priority over media mail. I went with half.com to save a extra three dollars compared to Amazon. When I checked back with Amazon they had the books for cheaper. I will stay with Amazon.com for any future books I purchase. I had the previous edition and this is a great update to it. Most of the pictures in the book are all new and they relate to the course. I took general chemistry in the winter so I didn't have enough time to read every page of the book. From what I read 2 years ago compared to this newer version, I really like the updates and the change to their format. I only read a couple of chapters to this book and I just loved the illustration. I give it a 4 out of 5 because I remember reading it before and falling asleep because it was too complicated and was lacking at the explanation part.
the international textbook is identical to the USA edition textbook, except for three things: the book cover image, ISBN number, and the softcover format. i was looking for a cheap book for my chemistry class and found this one. i found out that the book is not for sale in the United States. it turns out that the same publishers who make the U.S. edition are also responsible for making the international edition, but with a lower cost for international customers. being identical to the U.S. edition, the international textbook is compatible with the U.S. study guide and solutions manual, despite the imagery on both covers. you can use both the U.S. and the international textbook in conjunction with one another. this book is a great alternative to the overpriced college textbook sold in my campus.Read full review
Even though I dislike chemistry I think that it is great that you can purchase a book used or new on the internet for half the price or less. THe quality of this book is the same as the hard back books except it has a soft cover. To me that does not matter one bit as long as the inside is the same, and it is.Thank you for leaving some money in my pocket left over so I can get other supplies for school.
