This Braun shaver gives me a much closer shave than my previous one of the same type. It is much quieter. I can shave in about half of the time it took me with the previous one. Its construction is such that I can clean it in half the time it took me to clean my previous one. I'm glad I made the choice to get this shaver instead of buying a new head for my previous one.

it shaves like it was at least a year old. not better than a new rotary rechargeable I just bought at a flea market for less than $10.00. not happy with the Braun 7893a series 7 performance. maybe it has already been used for a year....

I bought this barely used, it was just like new, just wanted to clarify. I've used electric shavers in the past but could never find one that would shave close enough or would leave razor burn. This one ( series 7 893s) is a total enjoyment to use. Fits the hand really good and easy to operate. I use it on my face and head and it does a great job! It doesn't cut quite as short as a good double or triple blade but it is a lot easier and faster. Would I recommend it to family and friends? Hell yes I would!! So if you're not sure about an electric shaver and on the fence, try this one, I don't believe you'll be disappointed. If you've never used an electric shaver before, give it a month to get your technique down, then you'll be there. I know these series 7 shavers are a bit expensive, but worth the money. I received my Braun 7893s 7 series razor recently and immediately after opening it gave it a quick charge by plugging it in for 5 minutes. Afterwards I sampled my first shaving experience with what I know is finally my definitive razor. My search is over. This is a shave closer than a fine blade and gel or foam. Braun has designed this razor to be used wet or dry. It's ergonomics fit perfectly in my hand. The moment I saw this razor and it's design layout I knew my search was over. The speed of the blades beneath the foils is incredible and the shaver can be adjusted by pressing down on one of two buttons in the front. Pressing left reduces the intensity for more sensitive skin ( which is my preference) and pressing right increases the intensity for coarser beards. A small light will signal the setting changes by it's color change ( light blue = sensitive and dark blue= more intense). You will also hear the setting change and it becomes obvious while adjusting. The razors weight is proportionate to its powerful performance, it's just fine. I'm Impressed With the floating foils that really do conture to curves and tight spaces to leave no whiskers behind. Quality materials, thorough planning and engineering went into this state of the art razor which includes a custom shell case for storage or travel. I will however be ordering another case I saw for under $15 that includes space for the Brauns charging cord. Look for deals online. I scored this definitive beauty for $26!!!
