The GoGear Raga is clearly the best MP3 player that I have owned. Over a number of years I have bought a half-dozen others, and would rate them 1 to 3 stars. I give the Raga four. If it included a clip of some sort it would get five stars. The cuff provided with the GoGear Raga was useless, so I improvised a good-enough clip by combining a Command strip and a bulldog clip. My use is exclusively to listen to books. In ripping the CDs, each is given a meaningless file name, which I later alter to include the disc number. The Raga is the only MP3 player in my experience that shows the altered file names instead of just the meaningless name that the ripping process produced. It took several tries to figure out the navigation path, but it works. The Raga also has better battery capacity than any of the others that I have used, probably in the range of eight hours of play time.Read full review

I operate a haunted hayride which requires mp3 players on each of our rigs. I've bought 5 of these mp3 players because they are cheap and a reputable brand (Philips). Two have turned off and won't turn back on (google the issue and it's common, apparently). So those two are trash. A third shows the factory default tracks in the song list when you first turn it on, each time you turn it on, despite having hours of our music already put on there. You have to hit 'reset' on the bottom to get it to work correctly. The two that I have that still work will often freeze, especially if it's plugged in while on, then comes unplugged. Short version, this is garbage. Spend twice the money and get a decent one. I would send back the defunct ones but my time is worth more than the refund amount. I'm not going to bother standing in line at the post office.Read full review

I was tired of charging my 10 year old Coby every 2 hours while listening to tunes at work. This Philips player goes for days between charges! The sound is incredible and the ear phones worth the price alone. The case permits wearing on the arm and easy access to the controls through the clear cover. I've loaded 280 songs and find it slightly over half full. It is with me everywhere I go.

It was too difficult to use on motorcycle rides without looking at it to set volumn, change tracks etc with gloves on. I got it to replace my Sandisk Sansa which was east to operate with or without gloves. It sounds great but finally found a Sansa at a reasonable price so now the Go Gear is a backup unit. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice unit but not for my use.

I can put up to 500 songs on it, and arrange them in any order via the computer hook up. Great item
