Another perfect film from the Coen brothers. Although I am a huge fan of Raising Arizona, I have to say that this is truly their masterpiece. Each role is carefully crafted by the actors involved--Frances McDormand, William H Macy, Steve Buscemi, and the list goes on. Especially funny are the Northern-US speech patterns, which are believable and outrageous at the same time. Ya? Jerry Lundergaard is a loser, and his father-in-law never lets him forget it. When he envisions a scheme to help take his family out of debt and into the big time, he searches for a source of funding. After being denied money from his father-in-law, he decides he'll get money out of him anyway. He has his wife kidnapped, thinking that his father-in-law will pay the ransom and he'll be none the wiser. Well, as you can imagine, things don't go according to plan. People die in all sorts of strange and violent ways, but you can't help but be mesmerized by the picture. The characters, filming, and plot are painstakingly perfect in this dark comedy. Don't want to tell the plot of the movie. You need to see the movie to appreciate the characters and the story. The money you'll spend will be worth every cent!!

I think I have seen this movie six or seven times and continue to be entertained. I ordered this from 7734graham at a very fair price, received it promptly, and have enjoyed it since. Because I am the only one in my family who appreciates this DVD, I now have to play it on my portable alone. I have been banished. Anyway Ebay afforded me the opportunity to have this for myself. I will check this site in the future for more of my favorite movies. Thanks.
This movie based on a true story is so well made with such a great cast not to mention how ENTERTAINING it is no wonder that it such a highly sought cult classic. I love the way they talk as well. This is a very unique movie and definately deserves a rating of 5. If you don't buy it watch it and then I believe the majority of you WILL put this on your list!!!!
