Great phone; my fiance and I both own one, and for good reason. Like others have stated, this is an introductory smart phone, but it has all the features required in a smart phone for the average user. It runs on Android 1.5, but can be upgraded to 2.1...you will have to do this yourself if you want to (we did not). The only reason this phone did not get a 5 star rating is because sometimes it inexplicably died on me, but when I turned it on it had a full battery. This has only affected me twice...when my alarm failed to go off!! Since I have replaced the battery with a brand new one, and no issues thus far. Some people hate the Motoblur feature, but once you sign up for it (Gmail account will do) and get access to your phone, it doesn't really do anything thereafter...at least I have not used it or even noticed the Motoblur operation once. Bought this for my mom, I got 2 high end android phones with me but she came out of blackberry and I dont want too much android for her, i got the cliq at about 40 dlls (ebay auction), rooted, unlocked, installed moded rom with latest gingerbread, and its pretty good for the price, makes good quality calls, takes good quality pictures (on decent light conditions), wifi/bluetooth, you can load some apps, if you want to get a phone loaded with apps and games, this is not for you, if you want a phone to make calls/sms, check email, take some ocasional pictures and have all the google android apps functionality (contacts, syncronization, calendars, maps, etc.) at a low price, go for it!
Great phone! Motoblur software it runs is great for an advanced user but can be hard for a beginner android user. Other than that great touch screen, good battery life at 1-2 days usual use, and 3g reception. Awesome phone!
When I used this phone I LOVED it!! The apps, internet use, and camera were great! I would recommend this phone to a STRANGER!! The only con i have ever had about this phone was battery life. Yet for me it wasnt a huge problem. GET THIS PHONE!!! 3
The cliq is an excellent smartphone, the phisical qwerty is perfect for write , good 5 mp camera , with zoom (4x w/2.3.7 firmware) , fast capacitive touch , lot of possibilities for apps , games. 2nd android type phone and I love this.
