I switched back to the BB brand after having a 'droid. I went with the Pearl to have something smaller but still as useful as the BB Curve I used to have but at a fraction of the cost. The Pearl was a good choice. It is small, lightweight, has all of the BB features you love like BBM (blackberry messenger), a decent camera, all the same app access. The biggest issue was the keypad. I figured it out fairly quickly but I cannot say it is the most user friendly keypad. I recommend the tutorial. Overall I am happy with it. It is meant to hold me over until Sprint comes out with their version of the BB Torch this year when I will once again shell out the $$$ for a fancy new BB. In this regard my needs are fully met.
This is a good phone to work with, it took me awhile to get used to the keys. The options menus are not very friendly, and it takes quite awhile to figure out where to make the changes for what you want to happen. I've read through the manual and still disappointed about the settings. In addition it is annoying how even though I save the messages (received or sent) - they still somehow get deleted. It's also odd that the messages deleted are the most recent ones as opposed to the oldest ones first. All in all, it is a good phone. But it is even better to have a memory card for this phone - the phone memory is really bad!
The keyboard interface is very intuitive. The phone is extremely customizable. Its browser looks just like the page is viewed on a desktop. Its like having a computer away from my computer. One problem i found is that the phone freezes and i have to take the battery out if i am running too many apps at once. The sound quality is also superb.
The phone has a very interesting display and the keyboard is ver easy to type on. The trackball is always a nice feature, and i love it. This phone has great battery-life, and anyone can easily enjoy this phone.
great phone. compact, sleek and smart. Intuitive yet small. screen is crisp. while the buttons are small and take some time to get used to, they are manageable and a great trade off for the smaller size relative to other bb devices.
