I bought this to replace my LG Optimus V that came with very little storage space for apps. So far, overall, this phone has been wonderful. This review is largely written as a comparison between these two phones. The downsides to this phone are: 1) Battery life. If you actually use your phone a lot, especially connected to Wifi & not dimming your screen (probably the same using GPS, 3G service), this will eat through a fully-charged battery way too fast. Using apps to help battery life *can* help. Personally, I keep a couple of batteries for my phones, but I don't use the phone much and a charge usually lasts me 1-2 days even if I play a few games. 2) You can't move your apps to the SD card like with the LG Optimus V. Instead, you get around 900MB of phone memory and 2GB of SD-card-like storage where you can move your apps to. You can still use the SD card for storage, just not like with the LG Optimus V. 3) The phone is small and thin. At least compared to my last phone. This may be a pro for others, but for me and the way I carry my phone (in my cargo pants pockets) - I'm a bit nervous I'll break the thing in half. 4)Default Buttons. The default buttons, unlike with the Optimus V, don't wake your phone screen. They're built-in to the display and you need to hit the top power on/off button to activate your home screen. Maybe there's a setting for this, but I've not found it yet. Despite these negatives, I think the phone is great. It's much, much faster and responsive than the Optimus V, and even though you are limited in app-storage space, 2GB is probably more than enough for a large number of people. The photo quality is pretty good, the video quality is good and while it comes with bloatware that allows us to get the phone at such a low price, it's not overwhelming, for me anyway, on this phone. If you've never had an Android phone or you're using the LG Optimus, I think this is a good starting point or a great upgrade option so long as you get this phone for the right price.Read full review
A good upgrade from the LG Optimus V. Easy for me to type on accurately and reasonably fast. And far less prone to crash than the V. It may only have Gingerbread OS, but the phone is a far better and more reliable phone than my brand new Samsung Galaxy Centura, on Straight Talk. I'm constantly having to retype things on the Centura. And it's often slow to load apps. Granted the Optimus Elite cost twice as much, but the technology and specs on the Centura should make it a better phone than the Optimus Elite, but I'd rather have this used LG, over my new Samsung.
I had a cell and it lived in the car since it was a car phone. But my friends and family wanted me to carry one on me. So I figured if I paid for a smart phone then I might actually carry it. I am a Virgin customer already for broadband and paylo cell service and I wanted to stay with them. I reviewed all the phones in my budget and the LG Optimus Elite won out over the Slider. Over all I liked the phone alot. It had all your standard features you expect on an Android based phone. Now I cant give too much detail as I only had the Elite for a week. Mine had an issue. It would turn off if it went idle for any length of time and you'd have to pull the battery to get it to come back on. I contact Virgin and they sent me a new phone out. Problem there was they sent the wrong one. I got a Slider. Not wanting the hassel of sending it back and waiting another week, I kept the slider. It works just fine. I do have to give a big thumbs up to Virgin's customer service. There was no if and or buts, they just said to give them the address and a new phone would be on its way. I would recommend it even with the issue I had. I've checked forums and reviews of others and no one else has had the same issue that I have saw. One bad apple.Read full review
For about two years I had the LG Rumor Touch. It wasn't all that bad, but the touchscreen did suck. I decided to upgrade to a smartphone and chose to purchase the LG Optimus Elite. I love it! It's just like a iPhone, but less expensive. The battery life isn't the best... so make sure you buy a car charger if you're planning on going out and having your phone with you. :) It's a great phone & does everything that I need it to.
I really like this phone. I have had several Virgin Mobile phones & this is my favorite. The battery has a good amount of life, lots of storage & easy to use. WAY better than the regular Optimus! Even better than the Wildfire S. I would suggest this phone, especially for the value. I actually just bought my husband one for Christmas!
