nice phone for someone that doesn't use it much. battery life is very short. daughter does not have internet access and uses her IPOD to message friends and the phone still needs to charge once during the day.

Love this phone because it easily fits well into any of my pockets (I have lost other phones but I don't think I will lose this one. My only negative is the small letters and numbers for texting make it a little difficult for me to txt but overall I love the phone. Battery life is good and it is so inexpensive I bought two of them.

I bought this cell phone for my husband, who wants nothing to do with Smart phones and demands that his mobile have actual buttons. He's a little old school. The fact that I had a cassette tape player installed in his 2003 vehicle for his birthday in April should tell you a lot about his feelings regarding modern technology. I purchased the Cosmos on ebay for two reasons: 1) Verizon didn't offer what he required and 2) if I purchased from them, I would've had to renew my contract and right now, I'm grandfathered into an unlimited data plan. So when I'm ready to upgrade from my iPhone 4, I'll go this same route for myself. But I digress. This phone works well. He had been using an LG Chocolate phone that I'd purchased in 2007. He would likely still be using it, had our dog not knocked a glass of water onto it. The Cosmos was a good buy for him because the phones are very similar; both LG and with a lot of the same features and lookalike layouts. The Cosmos has some web capability, but not much. My husband has finally started texting with the ease of the slide-out Qwerty keyboard. He really likes this phone. It makes and receives calls and makes it possible for him to text. If he needs some "programming" done, he just passes it to me. His one complaint is that the ringer, even at max volume, is difficult to hear. But he did spend the majority of his 20s standing right next to the speakers at punk rock shows. So take that as you will. Overall, for $25, this phone is a steal.Read full review
Ive had mine for 6 months. And this is a really good phone.Great size for a pocket carry.I have large clunky fingers, and the number buttons on the front are easy to use for me.Also the slide out qwerty keyboard makes texting easy. But, DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING!!! When a call is coming in, the phone will speak out the numbers of the phone number or the name of the caller if theyre in your contacts. I like this function as it allows me to not answer a call from my ex girlfriend, if I had an ex girlfriend that I didnt want to talk to.Which I dont. But I digress. When it calls out my wifes name, I answer it as fast as I can. Sometimes it is even my son calling me on my wifes phone. But I digress again. Is that how you spell digress? Ive never actually written it before.Di means to diverge.Gress indicates away from.Di gress. But I go off on a bunny trail. I know that most phones have a calculator function, and this one does, but I use that function alot to figure sales tax for my jobs, and it is easy to access and use. The Phone locks after about 15 seconds and you have to PRESS the OK button 2 times to access any function. This is a good thing, as it eliminates pocket calls. With VERIZON WIRELESS, I never get dropped calls (unless the other caller has some other lesser cellular carrier) and I have great signal strength always. The thing that bugs me is 2 or three times a day,it tries to shop for apps! I dont need apps. I dont need to know the weather forcast for the next 5 days from my phone. I also dont want to know what happened on this date in 1922.If I can figure out how to turn the app feature off, I will be completely happy with this phone. Other than that, Battery life has been good,It started out GREAT. Lately it has been getting shorter, so I purchaced an aftermarket battery off ebay.It was generic and it was worse than the used one. I had to buy another one, this time a new OEM LG 900 mah battery.Less than $10 on ebay. Now its back to like new. I really like the MP3 player,It Is BETTER than most cheap MP3 players. It can play through the speaker phone, or there is a Stereo Headphone jack. You can use it while the phone is plugged in charging and use a 3.5mm line out cord straight into your home or auto sound system. If youre listening to music and the phone rings, the music stops and it becomes a phone again.UNLESS...you turn on Music Only mode in Options. You have to load a MICRO SD card with music from your computer to put into the slot to have music. The slot is inside the battery cover. Push it in till it clicks, and push it in again to release. With a 4 GB card you can have more music than you can play in a full day. UPDATE: I now have turned off the apps function and battery life shot way up. Awesome!!! I found a plastic cover at the verizon store. It is a beautiful blue color and I couldn't resist it. Well, this cover is so good to have. I thought it would add too much bulk, but it isnt noticably bigger. Is helps the back cover stay on better, as it would pop off easily from any fall. The cover also prevents buttons from being pushed while its in my pocket, further increasing battery life. SWEET!!! To summarize, I hate cell phones, but if you have to have one, THIS IS A GOOD ONE TO HAVE. And VERIZON WIRELESS IS THE BEST CARRIER with the BEST NETWORK. (This has been a public service announcement.) And remember, DONT TEXT WHILE DRIVING!!! Please.Read full review
Had an older model of this phone for 6 years. Worked perfectly. Simple text and call phone, no data plan required. Old phone survived being dropped, sat on, and even went through the washer AND dryer and kept on working fine. I can go three days between battery charges, but I don't use my phone to call or text every day like most people do. I do however have it on at all times. Exactly what I want and need. When the battery would no longer charge on my older model, it didn't seem worth buying a new battery for a phone that was almost 7 years old..... and the phone was old enough that I could not get text messages from my friends who had iPhones. Their messages showed up as gibberish. So time to upgrade to the newer model! I wasn't disappointed. Same great battery life, small profile, easy to use number and letter keys for texting and calling, great sound quality, and no expensive data plan required. If you are looking for an extremely slide phone just for texting and calling, this phone is a great deal.Read full review
