I have to say the Galaxy Indulge is a good phone with some inherent flaws. I'm also out side of Metro's 4g network, so my reception is a bit spotty in various places. PROS; Very fast response times on menus, selections, etc... Very well integrated with Google stuff like Gmail and calendar (since it's an Android) Handles like a mini computer with lots of customizing potential. 4 different ways to compose messages/sentences (including voice-to-text function) Access to the Android Marketplace means tons of applications, like finding north/south or how fast your phone is moving or where you can find cheap gas, GPS navigation, etc. CONS: Battery life is appalling, don't expect to go more than 1 day on 1 charge. This is apparently true for most Android 4g phones. Raised keys would have been nice. No zoom on camera is baffling. Aside from that, if you're considering a Merto PCS smartphone, I definitely recommend this one.Read full review
This Samsung Galaxy Indulge is the last of the Android phones with a slide out keyboard for Metro PCS. If you have large fingers that are not touchscreen friendly and hate $100+ phone bills then this may be a good option for you. This runs the older Froyo from 2011 and is not upgradeable so do not expect to run the latest generation of droid apps. The battery is horrible, barely lasting a day of limited use, though battery conservation apps and larger battery options are available making it "Brick Size" and extending life considerably. If you find yourself in a MetroPCS 4GLTE area then it is a serviceable option.
Great phone except for the battery life. Needs a program like itunes to sync with a PC. That way you wont have to pay metropcs to save contacts from previous phone. Used gmail contacts as a work around to sync contacts. Iphone and ipod touch had cut and paste, but I can't find this function on the android system. Slide out keyboard is a plus. The bottom 4 command buttons below the screen do not light up another minus. As stated before battery life is terrible. 1500Mah battery is not enough battery power. Ordered extended battery and back case with 3600MAh to see how this works. This is the highest level phone on the metropcs service and currently the only 4G LTE android phone (as of 7/31/2011). $60 for unlimited talk, text and web on a service that covers 90% of americans without a service contract was a win win. This is a mid level android phone without a front facing camera and only a 3.2 megapixel camera (without flash). I can deal with everything except the battery life. U need a charger in the car. Currently $299 on metropcs ($399-$100 promotion) bought on ebay for $195 minus 4gb microSD card.Read full review
i purchased for about 25.00 and for that price this is a very nice little device. It has a nice sized screen with sharp clear picture I use to watch feature length movies (700mb to 2.38gb in size) on my way to and from work, it plays most file types from flv to mkv, avi to mp4 and of course 3gp and mp3, I also listen to mp3 music (has 3.5mm headphone port and very loud speaker for a cell phone) and play free game apps downloaded from the google play app store on it. the 3mp camera is very nice for pictures and video recording. supports upto 32gb sd memory cards uses standard micro usb/V9 Razr house charger the only real problems I've encountered are... 1. can't be connected to any phone service (even metropcs as they no longer activate/support it) 2. sometimes spotty wifi connectivity (when it connects it's excellent but sometimes it just doesn't want to connect even with a strong signal) 3.can't find software to root the device and can't remove metropcs brand apps which i suspect are the cause of the phones' connectivity issues) 4.qwerty keyboard is flat with recessed buttons and not really thumb friendly (i find i use the touch screen all the time, and i hated touch screens) 5.as with most smart phones, the battery life is not that great. with wifi disabled it's not bad but turn wifi on and your out of power in very short period but all that aside, i am very satisfied with this product, it does what i bought it for (entertainment during my commute) and has convinced me to upgrade my telephone phone to android as soon as i can find an affordable cricket android phone to switch to (currently using motorola QA30 "Hint")Read full review
Anyone wanting to upgrade to a high quality android phone on a pre-paid carrier should look no further. It has enough memory and processing power to run any application/game I throw at it completely lag free. It's camera takes pictures in a moderately high quality and it records video in 720p DVD quality (not true HD). I've been using this phone for 3 weeks with virtually no problems what so ever. The 4g speeds on Metro PCS have also been impressive, with speed test averaging 2.2 mbps down and 1.4 mbps up. The only flaw is it's battery life, with moderate to heavy use you will find yourself charging it up in 6-9 hours. However an aftermarket 3600mAh extended battery is available that I have averaged a total 27 hours of use on until a charge was necessary.
